Note: Winnipeg finally woke up to some good news on the out-of-town scoreboard as the Oilers handed the Sharks a regulation loss last night which eliminates the game in hand that San Jose held over them. The Jets held a full practice yesterday as they prepared for another massive test when they face the Blues this evening. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 11:30 AM CT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and St. Louis, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CT.
Note III: The Moose wrapped up their regular season series with the Admirals last night in Winnipeg which saw them get absolutely pumped 7-0. The loss hurts even more given the Stars lost their second straight game to the last place Wild which meant that Manitoba, with a win on Wednesday, would have been two points back with a game in hand and a weekend series against Texas. Instead they’ve got Milwaukee back to three points behind them and Texas four points ahead. The team is off today.
Note IV: Last night in the OHL Jets prospect Edison Engle (2025 6th) picked up an assist on the GWG for Brantford who took Game 1 of their second round series with North Bay. Tonight in the NCAA Garrett Brown (2022 4th) and his Denver Pioneers are in the Frozen Four taking on Michigan for a chance to play in the championship on Saturday.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets hanging on for dear life but have chance to chase Blues away. (Paywall). Kelly Moore of 680 CJOB dropped the stat that the home team has won the last 11 games between these two clubs. Not a good sign for the visitors who absolutely need two points if they want to have a sniff of a chance at the post-season.
Global News: Winnipeg Jets’ future impacting the present. The reality is the league is getting younger and faster which isn’t to say you need to divest yourself of veterans but an influx of youth was definitely necessary.
