Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets sure they can still make playoffs, starting tonight in Denver. Until they are mathematically eliminated anything is possible but it will be a tall hill to climb.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jet a grizzled vet at age 20. Having confidence is a good thing. An even bigger asset of the rookie is his ability to not dwell too long on his errors.
Winnipeg Free Press: On the bright side, road PK flippin’ fantastic. An even better stat would be if they didn’t take any penalties and hand their opponents opportunities. Tim also looks at balancing energy and execution, faceoffs, where team is taking penalties and Thorburn’s possible return.
Winnipeg Sun: Not worried about Trouba’s rookie struggles. He may have hit a bump or two on the road but he has still been extremely impressive in his first season in the NHL.
Winnipeg Sun: Defensive game slipping away. This team had a number of areas that the new coach wanted to improve upon and he wants to get this group back to what he had them doing before the recent slide.
Winnipeg Sun: Stick penalties drive Jets coach ‘nuts’. The lazy penalties are what will drive a coach nuts each and every time.
Illegal Curve: Coach Maurice scrum (audio). Frustration in losing ground. Thoughts on Colorado. Making progress in some areas and not wanting to fall off in others. Jacob Trouba chatter. Balancing energy and execution. Update on Chris Thorburn (not coming to Denver, may be able to play against Vancouver). On his team taking penalties. On his team being tight.
Avalanche news:
Denver Post: Avalanche rookie Nathan MacKinnon looking like great one. Anytime a players snaps a record help by Wayne Gretzky it bears taking notice.
IceCaps news:
The Telegram: IceCaps getting out what they put in. Jaffray’s leadership is excellent on and off the ice. Since he called the players only meeting following a blowout loss the IceCaps are the hottest team in the AHL.
