Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Scheifele’s recovery looms over Jets as trade deadline approaches.  When the Jets brass saw their rookie centre on the ice in pain the day before the deadline they must have been just as quickly on their knees praying it wasn’t too serious.  If the rookie is out for any significant length of time the Jets chances of making the playoffs will be seriously impacted.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Looking on the bright side.  Who knew that the Jets were a team of optimists!!  Plenty of positivity in the dressing room and considering the game they played and the fact that they stole a single point, perhaps it makes sense.  Ed also looks at what the OT loss means, Scheifele’s potential injury, Ladd’s play and big vs. small picture.

Winnipeg Free Press:  No fan of deadline day.  To see a lineup that is still pretty new to you, get potentially all mixed up, is probably not what a coach ever wants.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets dangling Seto, Thorbs in front of Sharks?  Appears the Setoguchi experiment in Winnipeg might be over but will this also mean the final days of fan favourite Chris Thorburn?  Gary also discusses the latest on Mark Stuart and his desire to stay in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ken’s Notebook.  Plenty of news to digest in the OT loss and Ken breaks down the game in pretty good detail for you.

Winnipeg Sun:  Feeling the pressure of playoff push.  The team was taking the positive from the loss in OT as they continue to try and gain ground on the teams ahead of them.  A Dallas loss helped but the Jets let a big opportunity slip past them last night.

Winnipeg Sun:  Setoguchi on the move?  There was a lot of chatter last night in the press box as to whether Setoguchi could be heading back to San Jose.  As with most of these rumours there was plenty of speculation but nothing concrete although I did notice him talking to Nabokov during the pre-game skate. 

TSN:  Jets out-chance Islanders but fall in overtime.  Dennis gives you his assessment of the game from his perch high above the ice surface.

CBC:  Jets GM has tough decisions with Mark Stuart and Olli Jokinen.  CBC is doing a feature on the Canadian teams and today Tim Wharnsby puts the Jets in the hot seat and evaluates their situation.

Globe and Mail:  Trade deadline primer – Winnipeg Jets.  Cue the insanity as names are flying across the web with real and speculative trades happening seemingly by the minute.  The Globe looks at whether the Jets will be buyers/sellers, team needs, on the block and X-factor.
