Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ sick bay empty, but not a lot of change on bench. Coaches are usually loathe to change a winning formula so it isn’t that surprising that coach Maurice isn’t ready to make wholesale changes to his lineup.
Winnipeg Free Press: Wheels still inflated by Olympics. The Jets are going to need his enthusiasm to remain this high as they make a push for their first postseason in Winnipeg.
Winnipeg Free Press: Culture Club. Is it finally here? Have the Jets developed that coveted culture of winning that we have heard discussed for quite some time?
Winnipeg Sun: Deal or no deal for Jets? Once again the Jets find themselves in a precarious position as we approach the trade deadline. Do they sell off assets as they continue to develop for the future or do they keep those moveable pieces (Setoguchi, Jokinen, Stuart as well as three other UFAs) and risk losing them this summer? Which would you like to see?
Winnipeg Sun: Olympic experience invigorates Wheeler for playoff push. He accepted a limited role in the Olympics but he won’t have to concern himself with being used in a limited fashion here in Winnipeg. The team is going to be relying on him big time as they make a push for the playoffs.
Westman Journal: Coach Paul Maurice has given Winnipeg Jets’ fans hope. He certainly turned up the heat on bench bosses across the league who team’s are struggling.
Metro News: Jets mainly lagged at Winter Olympics. It wasn’t a banner tournament for the four players who went as only Olli Jokinen returned with some hardware but it was an experience that should prove invaluable for all four who went to Russia.
