Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Defenceman plays simple, solid game. Mark Stuart is a warrior and while he isn’t the most fleet of foot he has been tasked with playing more minutes for this team as he and rookie sensation Jacob Trouba form the Jets 2nd D pairing.
Winnipeg Free Press: Maurice pleased with Byfuglien’s forward progress. With Kane gone for the next bit you can bet that Buff will be staying at forward to increase the depth.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets play it close to the vest about facing Canucks. This is the final team that the Jets have yet to face in the NHL in Winnipeg. We have now seen all 29 NHL teams at the MTS Centre.
Winnipeg Sun: Up front with Buff. While I still don’t think he is particularly pleased playing forward the coach continues to believe this is the best place for him to be positioned. Kirk also touches on the coach being a tad grumpy, roster watch and around the glass.
Winnipeg Sun: Blake Wheeler, Eric O’Dell miss Jets practice. Looks like it is maintenance for the high flying Blake Wheeler and fatherhood for Eric O’Dell.
CBC: Jets forward Olli Jokinen on Sochi (video). Mitch talks to Olli about what the Olympics mean to him and the people in Finland.
Illegal Curve: Coach Maurice scrum. Style of Canucks play discussion. Did he watch the Cancuks/Hawks play and what did he see? His involvement in potential trades. His input/opinion on players for trades. How would he rate the experiment of Buff at forward?
Canucks news:
The Province: Magical Mystery tour begins for Canucks. It appears the Jets will be the first stop on a potentially season defining road trip for Vancouver.
Vancouver Sun: Hoping to do more with less. Vancouver has been dealing with a lot of injuries recently.
IceCaps news:
The Telegram: IceCaps look to extend winning streak. Winners of four straight St. John’s looks to keep it going against Portland.
