Jets news:

CBC:  30 Thoughts.  Number 21 touches on Jets defenceman Tobias Enstrom and his production.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Kane will skate with Wheeler, Scheifele against Ducks.  Yesterday coach Maurice confirmed that Evander would be good to go for tonight’s game.  He was a bit mysterious however, suggesting that if that line didn’t work he had another pairing for Kane that would work.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Father-son journey for Jets.  I’m sure the family members or friends (It isn’t limited to bringing your dad) are gonna have a nice little trip to Cali.  Coach Maurice spoke of the importance of giving insight into the lifestyle of a hockey player to family and friends who might not understand the rigors of playing professional hockey.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Moving Buff up front just as good as a trade.  Coach Maurice loves the versatility that Big Buff gives him in any position.  However now that Evander is healthy will Buff be happy remaining in that forward position for the club?

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets face ultimate challenge against NHL’s No. 1 team.  The Ducks have yet to lose in regulation at home.  Do you think Jets can be the first to knock these Ducks off?

Winnipeg Sun: Are the Jets for real this time?  We have seen this before from this franchise but the ultimate test is how they play on this trip.  For me it isn’t even so much if they can win but more will they stick to their ‘style’ instead of matching whatever is thrown at them.

Winnipeg Sun: Trouba, Scheifele deserving of accolades.  While they have taken different paths to success (Trouba early on, Scheifele of late) both have proven that they belong in the NHL without a doubt this season.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum from IcePlex.  What from last week makes him confident in heading into the upcoming week? On Evander Kane’s availability (“He’s a player”).  Will Kane be back in his spot (With Scheifele & Wheeler*).  Are the standings a true reflection?  What does he like about Buff as a forward so far?  What do you lose when you have Buff up front?  Sheltering Trouba.  O’Dell talk.  Talking about the family trip that Jets are taking this week.
