Jets news:

Sportsnet:  Hockey Central – Trade tracker Olli Jokinen (video).  The panel discusses the Jets centre, whether there would be a market for him and possible destinations.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Does Paul Maurice really have a prescription for what ails the Jets?  When you listen to the new bench boss speak you can tell he is a man with a plan but you can also hear him implying this won’t be a quick fix.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Frequent flyer Postma taking special precautions.  Good to hear that he is almost ready to resume playing.  Never easy for a player to have to sit out this long.

Winnipeg Free Press:  New boss is demanding; wants Jets to be faster, smarter.  These players are quickly learning that this coach is not going to be a walk in the park.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ken’s Notebook.  Ken opens up his note pad to give you his insight on all things Jets from yesterday.  Good read.

Winnipeg Sun:  O’Dell moving on up.  He was the leading scorer for the AHL IceCaps and is now going to get an opportunity to demonstrate some of that flash in the NHL as he moves up to the 3rd line.

Winnipeg Sun:  With new coach Paul Maurice, the bar is raised for Winnipeg Jets.  I liked his answer when he spoke about how the team was likely feeling after their 5-1 thrashing of the Coyotes and what would happen to them if they didn’t put that game behind them.

CBC:  Jets launch season-ticket campaign.  If you missed the news, yesterday the Jets started off their campaign to renew season tickets.  Good timing.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Maurice scrum.  Status of Setoguchi (under the weather) and Kane (“not there yet, a deep cut).  Stringing some wins together, does he have the prescription?  Focus on other teams or focus on his team?  Talk about the Flames.  His practice style.  Assessment of draft picks.  Getting to know the players.  Concept of excellence.
