Had he simply said free agents don’t want to sign with Winnipeg because the team isn’t a Stanley Cup contender that would have been sufficient (and not incorrect). Some asked us why we didn’t address his comments. The truth is this we don’t feel the need to discuss every time a person gives the city kudos and similarly we don’t have to address negative comments by one individual. We shouldn’t be so thin skinned (or insecure) in this city that an inane comment by someone from afar can send us collectively over the edge.
