Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Power play back into tank after brief spark.  Calling the PP anemic is an insult to the word anemic.  The Jets made a 17th ranked Philly penalty kill look like they belonged in the top 5.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Creaking Jets need oil.  After the two wins to start the road trip, perhaps the lazy practice followed by a poor effort on Friday will wake this team up.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Caught napping.  As I said during the first couple of periods it appeared the Jets managed to not break with their usual game day routine and in fact got in a pre-game nap.

Winnipeg Sun:  Shuffling deck on power play.  At this point coach may as well try five defenceman or five forwards all at once because it is clear that whatever the Jets have been doing previously is simply not working.

Winnipeg Sun:  Paying the price for coming out flat against Flyers.  Ken breaks down the game from start to finish.   While Pavelec made a number of nice saves to keep the game close, when the team simply scores one goal it is going to be difficult to win the contest.

NHL.com:  Kane leaves game with lower body injury.  When the Jets young gun was slow to his feet after taking the hit (video in link if you missed it) you knew it wasn’t going to be good news but fans were left hoping it was nothing.  After coming out to start the 2nd period and testing it (whatever “it” was) he was forced to call it a night.

TSN:  Jets drop back to .500 with loss to Flyers.  From high atop the ice surface Dennis breaks gives you his insight into what happened yesterday.

The Telegram:  IceCaps doubled over by Crunch.  St. John’s really has to stop mimicking Winnipeg after they too ended a two game road winning streak with a loss last night.

NHL.com:  HBO’s ’24/7 Red Wings/Maple Leafs’ debuts Dec. 14.  As someone who spent a lot of time following the Wings I am looking forward to seeing this 24/7 series.
