Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  A game breakdown.  Aside from the numbers a look at coach Noel being happy team won but knowing they have things to work on, Trouba’s first goal and Frolik’s game tying marker.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets rally late to beat Oilers.  Captain Andrew Ladd said they don’t give out points in pre-season, so this team will happily take the two points they earned in Alberta and now return home to tighten things up before the home opener on Friday against L.A.

Edmonton Journal:  Rookie Jacob Trouba a blueliner to watch.  The rest of the league is starting to take notice as the 2012 first round pick of the Jets made quite the debut last night.

Winnipeg Sun:  Storylines from the game.  In addition to breaking down the game, Ken looks at storylines from the game and how they turned out including ‘How Scheifele did as 2nd line Centre”, “Will top unit continue to carry the load”, “Can Pavelec take game to next level”, “Will Jets be tougher to play against” and “How big an impact will Buff have”.

Winnipeg Sun:  Not all Winnipeg Jets are fans of NHL’s new hybrid icing.  If this means we have less injuries in the NHL then it is likely worth the mistakes that may be made as the new rule is implemented.

Winnipeg Sun:  Kane shows off skills in commercial.  We had the video up yesterday and watching it again today you realize, despite the fact that it took multiple takes,  how sick his skills are.

CBC:  Beware of Jets ticket scams, Winnipeg police warn.  Basically it is buyer beware but if something sounds too good to be true, it is because it probably is.

Illegal Curve:  Jets sign Axel Blomqvist.  Adding a bit of depth (and size) to the forward prospects.  The Swede will continue to play with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL this season.

Illegal Curve:  Jets launch Rewards Loyalty Program.  The Jets become the first Canadian team to launch this sort of initiative.
