Note: All this month we wanted to bring to your attention the Pass it Forward program which provides help to youth in Winnipeg who wish to play hockey but require aid in getting the necessary equipment. You can head to any Perth’s Drycleaners which allows people to donate gently used hockey equipment to any Perth’s location in Winnipeg.  The program is in it’s 5th year, they have a website, an active twitter feed @PassItForwardca, and they are giving away a autographed game used stick. Be sure to check it out.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press:  Scheifele, Trouba sure as death, taxes.  No question that these two will be wearing Jets jerseys to start the season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Rockie end to pre-season.  The team and coach Noel weren’t happy with the way the pre-season went.  As captain Ladd said last week, you don’t get any points for winning in the pre-season but can his squad turn things around and be sure the fundamentals are better when they take on Edmonton to start the season?

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets keeping 26 players on roster for now.  But the cuts are a coming as the team needs to get down to 23 by Monday.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Time for Jets to look in the mirror says Noel.  Talk is cheap.  It has yet to be seen if the players have bought into the plan.  But fans can rest assured that it will be known in the next little while.

Winnipeg Sun:  Working on team building in Banff.  The Jets are gonna try to build some group cohesion while getting ready for the big game in Edmonton on Tuesday.

Illegal Curve:  Coach Noel presser from Banff.  Has he been able to put last night’s game behind him?  Doing team building in Banff.  When Buff got banged up, should that have been an icing?  Buff’s status?  Is he frustrated with his team already?  Is his team tougher to play against?  When will they be cutting down the roster?  Status of Trouba and Scheifele?  Are injured guys ready?  (Bogosian looks ready might be available, Clitsome day to day).
