Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: All this month we wanted to bring to your attention the Pass it Forward program which provides help to youth in Winnipeg who wish to play hockey but require aid in getting the necessary equipment. The program is in it’s 5th year, they have a website, an active twitter feed @PassItForwardca, and they are giving away a autographed game used stick. Be sure to check it out.

Jets news:

Jets official site:  Tangradi excited about return to Belleville.  Always nice to return to a place you developed a lot of memories and formed a major part of your hockey development.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Playoffs or bust?  Ed looks at ten different factors that the Jets will rely on in their quest to make the post season for the first time in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Captain Andrew Ladd says Dustin Byfuglien’s weight is always a non-issue.  You can tell the Jets are sick of these questions already and the season hasn’t even begun.

Winnipeg Sun:  Five burning questions about the Winnipeg Jets heading into training camp.  Ken asks five questions that have been burning with Jets fans for the entire summer.  Thankfully we will likely have some answers soon enough.

Winnipeg Sun:  Steinbach defenceman Ian White gets a look from Jets.  Never hurts to add some depth to push the guys from getting complacent although the Jets do have plenty of right handed shooting defencemen.

NHL news:

Toronto Star:  Kadri agrees to two-year, $5.8M deal with Leafs.  Nice little bridge deal.  While Kadri wanted more money this will be his opportunity to show consistency over the next two seasons to justify that long-term, big money deal.

Florida Sun Sentinel:  Panthers to open camp Thursday, will G Tim Thomas be there?  Still a number of places the enigmatic goalie could end up as Vancouver, Calgary, Long Island and Florida are all rumoured to be in the running.
