Jets news:
George Parros appreciated the chant last night:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets pound Panthers 7-2. Just what the doctor ordered. The Jets have really found their goal scoring the last three games (15 goals for, 4 against), punctuated by last night’s seven goal outburst.
Winnipeg Free Press: Refusing to roll over and accept futility. The Jets are doing what they need to do. Not only are they beating teams below them in the standings that they need to beat, but they are stepping on the throats of those opponents. A few days to recoup and then back to the grind next week when they will have a better idea of where they stand in the East.
Winnipeg Free Press: Making a real run at it. Better late than never. The five game losing streak put them behind the eight ball (or eighth spot) and it doesn’t help that all the teams they need to lose continue to win, but all the Jets can do right now is do what they are doing, which is beating everyone who shows up to the not so friendly confines of the MTS Centre.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets take time to do a little happy dance. Punctuated by Chris Thorburn coming to the Jets dressing room to do audio and yelling “I got this” to the rest of the Jets in the room. But they know that they could only spend a few minutes savoring that victory before the reality of the scores from other NHL games set in and they knew that they merely were treading water and not gaining ground.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets fans to get licences quicker quicker. Good news for fans who are eager to get the plates for their cars or motorcycles.
Winnipeg Sun: Prom night for the Jets. While it was the type of period that gives coaches a fit, the first period back and forth action was quite enjoyable for fans used to a less run and gun style of pace.
Winnipeg Sun: Winning is nice — but not enough to earn Jets playoff berth. Cannot be anything more deflating than playing solid for 60 minutes, winning decisively and then realizing you haven’t made up any ground in the race.
Winnipeg Sun: Bryan Little is black & blue — & red-hot all over. What can be said about Little. A lot. He has been sensational the past few games, making passes that are simply perfect, despite pain in his hand following a Ron Hainsey slapper the other game.
TSN: Jets win third straight continuing success at home. Talk about streaky. Lose five. Win three. Unfortunately the former streak has meant that the Jets need to ensure the current streak continues until the final game to ensure a chance at post season play.
Jets on a Deadline – Jets 7 Panthers 2:
