Note: Movember officially ended and the Illegal Curve team is pleased to say we raised $6,263.00 . Our thanks to Dave, Ezra, Drew, #5 Mark Stuart, #44 Zach Bogosian and the other members of the team. Donations are still welcome all of December as we continue to support the increase of funds and awareness for Men’s health.

We had a lot of fun ending yesterday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show with an official shave-off event (You will be able to hear that audio as well as the entire show later today).  Thanks to Movember co-chairs Jamie Hopkins who dropped off some Schick products for the shave-off and Jeff Palson who joined us on air to discuss the Movember Manitoba campaign.

Jets & Affiliate news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Fan boycott a hard sellIn this city I would suggest it is an impossible sell.  For anyone who would give up their seat, 100 fans would eagerly take his or her place inside the MTS Centre whenever play resumes.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets gear still flying off the shelvesAs I’ve said since this lockout began, fans in this city are not planning on punishing this organization for a lockout that was set in motion before the franchise even had moved to Winnipeg.  Walk around this city and you will see Jets gear on everyone, from little kids to parents.

Winnipeg Sun:  Fans not going anywhere despite lockoutWe saw evidence of this at the Goals for Dreams game, when 1700 hockey starved fans took in a scrimmage just to see some of their Jets in action.

CBC:  IceCaps can’t catch PenguinsAll good things must come to an end and despite pushing their win streak to 3 games for the first time this season, it all came to an end as they lost last night to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Reporter Herald:  Idaho Steelheads keep Colorado Eagles reelingAnother road loss, and this was a drubbing as the Eagles got blown out Saturday 7-1.

CBA news:

Globe and Mail:  NHLPA authorizes $10000 stipend for players as lockout drags onFor all the players who did not properly account for the ramifications of a lockout, the PA is smartly reducing their concerns, which will likely avoid any player speaking out as their bank accounts dwindle.

Toronto Sun:  NHL lockout cold war continues as two sides exchange ideasGotta love how they cannot even agree to a meeting which is non-binding and is really just to get the conversation going again.

Tampa Bay.com:  Lightning veterans don’t fault owner Jeff Vinik for lockout. Very tough for players to speak out about the owners who sign their pay cheques.  Eventually that same individual will be responsible for paying them millions of dollars so being careful with what they say about their owners is not a surprise and why many have taken to lashing out at Commissioner Bettman.

ESPN:  James Dolan wants to meetWith the amount of money the Rangers have spent to get MSG ready for the Rangers and with expectations that this team can challenge for the Stanley Cup, you can be sure that Dolan cannot be happy with the present state of affairs.
