Note: Movember is officially over and the Illegal Curve team is pleased to say we raised $6,263.00 as of this AM, our biggest single day increase ($886.00). Our thanks to Dave, Ezra, Drew, #5 Mark Stuart, #44 Zach Bogosian and the other members of the team. Donations are welcome all of December as we continue to support the increase of funds and awareness for Men’s health.
Note II: Tune into the Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN Radio 1290 from noon to 2:45 pm today. We will be celerbating the end of a long month of Movember with a live shave off of our mustaches on air (video will likely make its way to Illegal Curve.com). We also have plenty of hockey related talk. Guests: Craig Button (TSN) and Jeff Citron (Partner at Goodmans, former Associate council of the NHLPA, 1995-2000)
Jets & Affiliate news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Career interrupted. The Jets have to hope that Kane will be ready to go and that the kick at the can in the KHL was just an anomaly.
Winnipeg Free Press: Couldn’t find the net, fathom ‘nyet’. Good for Ed to ask Evander about his KHL experience. Clearly he never took to the style of play over in Russia. Finished with 12 games, 1 goal and a minus 8.
Winnipeg Free Press: Players, owners shooting breeze the answer? While I agree it is not an even playing field perhaps to change the nature of the conversation it isn’t such a bad idea.
Illegal Curve: The Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Free Press are pleased to offer “The First Season”. Free Press reporter Randy Turner continues to churn out some excellent books and this looks like it is another must buy.
The Telegram: IceCaps, Pasquale win again. Don’t look now but St. John’s is on a winning streak as they pulled off their 3rd victory in a row last night in Albany. Also appears that Edward Pasquale is taking the role of #1 net minder.
The Hockey Writers: Can OHL scoring forecast success for Jets Scheifele? In the end we won’t know the answer for another 5 years, at which point we can look back and say yes this was a good move, or no it was a terrible selection. While looking at historical trends can sometimes give an indication there is no guarantee of success or lack thereof.
Reporter Herald: Idaho goalie Robinson shines against Eagles. Once again this Colorado squad showed an inability to win on the road as they ran into a hot goalie in Boise.
CBA news:
USA Today: NHLPA must decide if decertification is worth risk? Can you say goodbye to the season?
ESPN: However lockout ends, Bettman must go. Rogers has had enough of the ‘my way’ or the highway approach that is often attributed to Commissioner Bettman.
Montreal Gazette: Martin Brodeur slogging through his fourth work stoppage. That is a lot of lost money and time for the future hall of famer.
Recap of the game.
Thoughts on the big 5-0 win.
