Note: The Jets were off on Monday so we didn’t get an update on Neal Pionk who left the game in the first period after just a few shifts. We may have gotten a tell as Moose head coach Mark Morrison split up his D pairs which is unusual given the team has won six straight so it could possibly mean that Elias Salomonsson will be recalled. Stay tuned for that and the Practice Report as the Jets will skate in Winnipeg before leaving for five games on the road.
Note II: Speaking of the Moose they play this morning at 10:30 AM in the school day game which is expected to have close to 7000 school kids who will bring the energy from puck drop to the final buzzer. I’m joining play-by-play voice Daniel Fink in the broadcast booth to provide colour analysis if you’d like to tune in.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets on the outside looking in at season’s quarter mark. (Paywall). That 9-3-0 start to the season sure seems like it was a long, long time ago. The good news for Winnipeg is that sites like MoneyPuck still see them as 76% likely to qualify for the playoffs. But they are going to need to get this turned around tout suite.

Global News: Jets’ goal should be to stay in playoff hunt. The good news for the Jets is that with the exception of the Avalanche no teams are really burning ahead in the standings. Having said that they cannot allow this losing streak to persist or else it may be too little too late when Connor Hellebuyck returns.
