Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets and Hawks had a Central Division battle last night in Winnipeg as Jonathan Toews played his old team for the first time. The top line absolutely feasted on Chicago producing four goals of the six the team scored while 19 did get an assist in the win. It wasn’t totally without cost as Gustav Nyquist got hurt and looked very ginger as he made his way down the tunnel in the 1st period. After the game head coach Scott Arniel said he tweaked something and would be evaluated further. Winnipeg would win 6-3 (game recap here) which was the 12th straight game (11-0-1) that they’ve secured a point against Chicago. Impressive stuff.

Note II: Today the Jets are scheduled to practice as they prepare for tomorrow’s afternoon game against the Penguins. We could finally get some insight into what the team’s plan is for captain Adam Lowry, if he will head down to the AHL for a conditioning assignment or remain up with the big club. Although it is entirely possible they wait until tomorrow to make any announcements in that regard. Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.

Note III: The Moose travelled home from Tucson on Thursday after ending their road trip with back-to-back wins over the Roadrunners. They are off today and will hit the ice for practice on Saturday as they prepare for a pair of games against the Stars of Texas, who currently occupy the basement of the Central Division, starting with an afternoon game on Sunday.
