Note: The Jets were off on Wednesday after a one-game trip to St. Paul where they defeated the Wild in overtime. The biggest question mark remains the team’s plan for their captain Adam Lowry who continues to get closer and closer to making his regular season debut. There is still a chance the team assigns him to the Moose on a conditioning assignment. It’s a game day as they take on the Hawks which will be quite the full circle moment for Jonathan Toews as he plays his former team for the first time in his career. Morning skate for Winnipeg gets underway at 10:30 AM CDT so stay tuned for the pre-game report to ensure you’re up-to-date on the latest. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Chicago, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 9:40 PM CDT.

Note III: The Moose were involved in a fun little game down in Tucson as they swept the Roadrunners in their two-game set to conclude the road trip. It was an eventful game as they scored 5 on 5, shorthanded, on the power play and then added some insurance although the biggest moment from the game was when Walker Duehr pulled off his best Patrik Stefan impression by missing an empty net from feet away. It didn’t hurt his club as Manitoba held on for the 4-3 win. The team will travel home today and are off tomorrow.

Note IV: Pair of Jets prospects in the CHL last night. Over in the OHL it was Kieron Walton (2024 6th) who had two goals for Sudbury in a loss as he continues to display his hot hand while in the WHL it was Owen Martin (2025 3rd) who had the game-winning goal for Spokane.

Note V: How about them Blue Jays!! While this site isn’t about to become Illegal Pitch, have to acknowledge how good Game 5 was and the performance of rookie Trey Yesavage. He had 12 strikeouts and no walks against the Dodgers in the World Series. And a first pitch jack by Davis Schneider followed by a Vladdy bomb really set the tone. Should be an amazing Game 6 in Toronto on Friday night. Suspect all of Canada will be watching.

Jets news:

Global News: Jets getting closer to becoming familiar team. The fact is that it’s hard to judge the Jets without Lowry, Samberg and Perfetti. I’m not saying those three will erase some of the warts but they will certainly help clean some things up.

Winnipeg Free Press: ‘We still haven’t come close to playing our complete game yet’: Arniel. (Paywall). The goalies sure have. The rest of the team has quite a bit of room for improvement.

Winnipeg Free Press: Toews looking forward to early-season matchup against former club. (Paywall). It should be a memorable day/night for the Manitoban.

The Athletic Winnipeg: After 10 games, 7 Winnipeg Jets takeaways and what they mean. (Paywall). Murat had some thoughts that he shared at the 10 game mark.

Jets video:

TSN: Grading Toews at the 10-game mark. Jonathan Toews has contributed two goals and three assists this season and ahead of his 10th game in his return with the Jets, Domino’s That’s Hockey assesses how he has performed thus far.
