Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: Might today be the day that Winnipeg and Kyle Connor announce a long-term deal? Elliotte Friedman and other insiders were reporting last night that both sides are closing in on a deal. The thought was both sides wanted to get this done before the regular season began. Stay tuned. Update: Today was the day as Friedman/Dreger both indicated and thereafter the team itself confirmed it will be an eight-year extension.

Note II: Before the Jets hit the ice for their first practice of the regular season the team announced the full 23-man roster which could quickly change as Jonathan Toews was listed as being non-roster IR. Check out yesterday’s Practice Report to get fully up-to-date. We should get a better idea of that following practice today or potentially waiting until game day morning skate on Thursday. Jets are on the ice for practice at hockey for all centre at 11 AM.

Note III: The Moose were off on Tuesday after playing their final warm-up game of training camp. The roster will basically be complete although it’s anticipated that Brad Lambert or Parker Ford (or both) will be added to the mix once it’s determined if Toews is good to go for the Jets home opener. This is probably the last day of training camp for Manitoba. They hit the ice at hockey for all centre at 10:30 AM.
