Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: The Jets skated on Friday on day 9 of training camp as they prepared for their game against the Oilers last night.

Note II: It’s a back-to-back game day in Winnipeg as the Jets host Calgary for the fourth game of the pre-season this evening against the Flames. The game group will skate at 10 AM while the non-game group skates at 12 noon. Puck drop is at 8 PM.

Note III: Just a shade under two weeks into Jets training camp and things are starting to get a bit more clear.  They have played three games with another this evening with cuts around the corner as they look to trim the roster, all of which will give us plenty to discuss on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show.

Winnipeg Sun: Brayden Yager fixing ‘timing’ issues with help of childhood role model Jonathan Toews. As we saw in practice on Thursday the Saskatoon product spent some extra time on ice after formal skate had concluded soaking up the knowledge the future Hall of Famer was sharing with him.

Global News: No panic in Winnipeg for Kyle Connor’s contract. John had Mark Chipman on his podcast last week and asked him if there were any concerns. He didn’t have any and said he envisions a long-term future for 81 in Winnipeg.
