Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: There was exhibition hockey in Winnipeg yesterday as the Jets (mostly prospects) lost 3-2 to the Wild in OT. It was a game they controlled but Minnesota was able to tie it late and then won it in overtime. Things were looking good in the opening period as Morgan Barron opened the scoring on a 5 on 3 with Elias Salomonsson QB’ing the PP which was followed by Danny Zhilkin continuing his hot streak when he ripped this nice drop pass by Kevin He home. We also saw Tyrel Bauer bringing the physicality and later in the game Salomonsson showing off his road hockey goalie moves. Also Winnipegger Isaac Poulter made his Jets debut taking over the net in the 3rd period.

NHL.com: Zhilkin line impressive in Jets OT loss. He had a really good Prospect Showdown, scored the only goal in the scrimmage shootout and then looked good again on Sunday against the Wild.

Winnipeg Sun: Free agent Cole Koepke looking to add a physical, up-tempo element to the Jets. He is certainly a player who has caught our attention early in camp.
