Note: Just yesterday we said we are entering the quiet part of the season with the occasional signing to announce and sure enough the AHL club of Manitoba made some news with the signing of a trio of players who all wore antlers last season for the first time.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Helping Jets claim the Cup top reason Nyquist signed with Winnipeg. (Paywall). Folks see this as a ‘buy low’ type of deal for Winnipeg.

Sportsnet: Five NHL teams that could make moves amid quiet free agency. Lots of Jets talk as Winnipeg is listed as one of the five clubs. It ends with a thought about  Nick Schmaltz being a player the Jets should consider acquiring.

Jets video:

Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Jets defenceman Haydn FleuryOn the IC Hockey Show this past Saturday we caught up with Jets defenceman Haydn Fleury who the week prior signed a two-year contract with Winnipeg. He spoke about his decision to sign before becoming a UFA, being part of this team, playing in a Canadian market, the Manitoba Miracle and quite a bit more.

Working hard on a daily basis to provide the latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news for our readers and listeners. I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on our YouTube channel as well as the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show after every single Jets game. And I occasionally jump in the play-by-play booth at Canada Life to provide colour analysis during Manitoba Moose games.
