Note: The business side of hockey got done on Saturday which was the day for players with arbitration rights to file for same. That’s just what Gabriel Vilardi, Dylan Samberg and Morgan Barron did which is good for the Jets in the sense that it prevents any of the three from signing an offer sheet. Now both sides have a date to work towards getting something done to avoid arbitration.

Winnipeg Sun: Nikolaj Ehlers says his move from the Jets to the Carolina Hurricanes ‘was inevitable’. While some fans might not be happy he chose a change of scenery it’s hard to deny the impact he made on this team in the decade he hit the ice for them.

Winnipeg Free Press: Playing in Winnipeg something Ehlers will ‘cherish forever’. (Paywall). From being drafted back in 2014 to becoming a full-time NHLer who made an impact whenever he hit the ice, the Dynamic Dane really “grew up” in Manitoba.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Nikolaj Ehlers excited for fresh start with Hurricanes, calls Jets exit ‘very emotional’. (Paywall). We got Murat fresh off the call yesterday on IC and he shortly thereafter put some words down about number 27 and his departure from Winnipeg.
