Note: The Jets took Monday off as they heal up some players who are dealing with some bumps and bruises including Dylan Samberg and Nikolaj Ehlers. There seems to be more certainty with respect to the defenceman rather than the forward and we may not get much insight as today’s practice is an optional. Even if it wasn’t clarity is unlikely given Scott Arniel’s comments that everyone will be listed as day-to-day right now. Might we even see Gabriel Vilardi who, as of two days ago, hadn’t yet been on the ice. Lots of question marks as the Jets get set to face the Ducks tomorrow night to conclude the 2024-25 regular season. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose were on the ice for practice on Monday as they continue to prepare for their final week of the 2024-25 season. We did see Parker Ford join his teammates for the first time as he returns from an upper-body injury that required surgery. He took part in about half of the practice. We didn’t see Jets prospect Brad Lambert skating and that’s because he’s been sidelined for a few weeks with an ankle sprain after he got steamrolled on Saturday night. They are back on the ice today at 10:30 AM CDT.
Note III: Time for a prospect update with playoffs remaining underway. Well mostly underway since Zach Nehring (2023 3rd) and his Western Michigan Broncos won their first ever National Championship on Saturday at the expense of Garrett Brown (2022 4th) and his Denver Pioneers. The only prospect playing on Monday night was Markus Loponen (2024 5th) who had a goal in Victoria’s game 2 win to even their series. Brayden Yager (2023 1st) and his Lethbridge team are up 2-0 over Calgary in their second round series. Over in the OHL, Colby Barlow (2023 1st) and his Oshawa club find themselves down 0-2 to Brantford while Jacob Julien (2023 5th) and his powerhouse London squad are up 2-0 over Erie. The three who didn’t play yesterday are in action tonight.

Global News: Jets aiming for more than the franchise’s first Presidents’ Trophy. I don’t think in anyone’s wildest dreams they foresaw this happening in this regular season and I suspect if given truth serum the players and coaching staff would echo that sentiment.
