Note: The Jets were back in business against the Golden Knights last night which saw them finally pick up a victory after losing eight straight games against Vegas. They started off on the right skate courtesy of Mark Scheifele‘s 37th of the season which turned out to be all they needed although they’d get three more for a 4-0 win and Eric Comrie was spectacular in the net picking up his second shutout of the season as the team matched their franchise record for wins with 52. Previously they’d done that twice but both times came in game 82 which means they’ll have six more games to set a new high. After the game coach Arniel said “I think he’ll be alright” in reference to a question about Ehlers who took some friendly fire and had to be helped off the ice. Today they are in Utah where they are scheduled to practice. Stick around for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose were off on Thursday but will hit the ice today for a practice as they get ready for a pair of matinees this weekend in Winnipeg against the Wolves. Manitoba has six games left in the regular season which is all they’ve got left in their 2024-25 season as they were mathematically eliminated with their loss to the Rocket on Wednesday night.
Note III: Jets prospects were playing last night in both the OHL and WHL. Colby Barlow (2023 1st) picked up a primary assist on the GWG for Oshawa as they are now up 3-1 in their series. The next three prospects all played last night but were held off the scoresheet including Kieron Walton (2024 6th) and his Wolves who got swept in 4. He finished with 1G 4A. Might he join Moose on an ATO or might he sign his ELC? Kevin He (2024 4th) and his IceDogs lost and are down 3-1 while Jacob Julien (2023 5th) and his Knights swept their series 4-0. Out west Connor Levis (2023 7th) picked up an assist for Vancouver but his hometown team lost and are down 3-1 in the series to Spokane.
