Note: Folks in Winnipeg were excited for some intense hockey on Tuesday night and while it wasn’t the run and gun game we saw when the Jets and Capitals battled in Washington which required OT, it was still a heck of a hockey game played between two excellent teams which again required OT. We knew that before extra time got going that securing a point meant the Jets were the first team in the Western Conference to secure a playoff spot. Eventually the best team in the west beat the best team in the east with a rocket of a shot by Nikolaj Ehlers sent the sold out crowd home happy with a 3-2 OT victory. The Jets are off today.
Note II: The Moose were also in action last night as they began a three-game road trip starting in Milwaukee. They got off to a good start with the opening goal of the game but the Admirals scored four unanswered to take it 4-1. They are scheduled to practice in Wisconsin before heading to Illinois where they will play Rockford twice this weekend.
Note III: The Jets have seven prospects playing in the CHL this season and the regular season just ended on Sunday. With playoffs around the corner we looked at how things went for: Colby Barlow, Jacob Julien, Kevin He & Kieron Walton (OHL) and Brayden Yager, Connor Levis & Markus Loponen (WHL). Check it out here.
