Trade Deadline News: There was a goalie swap between the Jets and Panthers on Thursday dealing Kaapo Kahkonen for Winnipegger Chris Driedger. The big player Winnipeg was rumoured to be in on was dealt late last night as Brock Nelson was acquired by the Avalanche for a pretty penny. Oh and then Elliotte Friedman reported that talks were intensifying for the Hurricanes to send Mikko Rantanen to the Dallas Stars. As I said on twitter imagine that first round series between Colorado and Dallas. Will be interesting to see how the Jets pivot. Note: The Jets got back on track last night in Philadelphia scoring twice on the power play (on two opportunities) and twice at 5-on-5 to leave the city of brotherly love with a 4-1 win over the Flyers. Note III: The Moose were off on Thursday after taking three of four points from the Griffins to start off this homestand. Today they are scheduled to practice as they prepare to close it out with a pair of games against the Wranglers starting on Saturday afternoon.
Note IV: One player who didn’t play last night was Rasmus Kupari who is in concussion protocol after taking a spill in the game on Tuesday against the Islanders.
Note V: The Jets got a prospect signed on Thursday as the team announced they had signed 2023 5th rounder Jacob Julien to a three-year ELC.
