Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Curse be damned: Top spot would add juice to Jets playoff run. After Paul took that line of questioning yesterday morning with Kyle Connor and hearing the response from number 81, I got to thinking about the Presidents’ Trophy “curse” and it really is a myth. In the 38 years that they’ve handed it out the first place team has taken home the Stanley Cup eight times which is more than in any other slot. Interesting the next spot is 4th overall who have gone on to win six times.

Winnipeg Sun: In Chevy we trust: Jets hit road unsure of trade winds blowing. Will he nibble? Will he swing for the fences? We don’t know. Players don’t know. Lots of questions which should be answered fairly soon.
Winnipeg Free Press: Power-play goals hard to come by. (Paywall). Hard to believe that two units that were basically automatic for 55 games has become less so the last half dozen. But this group isn’t hitting the panic button and assistant coach Davis Payne felt the last two games they were back to their standard.
Winnipeg Free Press: No complacency on Jets. (Paywall). We heard it on Kyle Connor’s comments on Monday where he spoke about wanting to earn two points every single game.
Sportsnet: Looking at picks, prospects Jets could offer in trade. No offence to Jason but the chances the Jets are willing to part with Salomonsson or Yager or even Lambert are beyond miniscule. Especially when you consider how limited the trade market is for anything that is very exciting. Obviously if there is a name off the board with term there’s always a chance. But I find it far fetched.
The Athletic: What we’re hearing about every NHL team heading into deadline week. (Paywall). Stop me if you’ve heard this before: depth defenceman and a bottom-six forward. I saved you the time from reading something you already knew.
The Athletic Winnipeg: What I’m hearing about the Jets ahead of the trade deadline: Joel Armia and other depth options. (Paywall). We got rather strong reactions (both positive and negative) from folks at the notion of bringing back Joel Armia. That and more in Murat’s latest.
