Note: The Jets faced a little adversity in their first of four games at home on Sunday but like every game but one this season they came out on top picking up their 11th victory of the season in their 7-4 win over the Lightning. Today they are scheduled to practice at 11 AM CST at Canada Life Centre so check back for the Practice Report for all the latest news.
Note II: The Moose were off on Sunday after a disappointing weekend that saw them lose both games to a very good Admirals team (hadn’t lost since season opener) which won the special teams battle (both PP & PK). Today they hit the ice at 10:30 AM CST for practice.
Note III: Jets 2024 4th rounder Kevin He played OT hero as he ended the game for Niagara defeating fellow Winnipeg prospect (and his best friend) Kieron Walton (2024 6th) with Sudbury. He had 1G 1A and was named 1st Star of the Game. Jets 2023 5th Jacob Julien is heating up for London after a slow start to his season as he scored for London in a win on Sunday. Over in the WHL prospect Markus Loponen (2024 5th) had his first two goal game in the WHL.
Jets news:
Sportsnet: Jets battle back from head-scratching goaltender interference call. The photo of Connor Hellebuyck’s eyes as captured by our amazing photographer Colby perfectly sums up the shock that it was called a good goal on the ice by the refs and then confirmed by the NHL after it was challenged by the Jets. Jacob has more on how the NHL club of Winnipeg turned a negative into a positive.
Winnipeg Sun: Nikolaj Ehlers makes Danish history as Jets thump Lightning. And he did it in 308 fewer games than Frans Nielsen. Ehlers is going to really set the bar high for Danish hockey whenever he eventually hangs up his skates.
Winnipeg Free Press: High-flying Jets fill the net again. (Paywall). The Jets are first in many categories but I’m not sure anyone expected them to be leading the NHL in goals.
Tampa Bay Times: Lightning’s mistakes glaring in loss to Jets in Winnipeg. (Paywall). Read about the game from the perspective of a writer that covers the Jets opponent.

TSN: Samberg on Jets’ win: ‘This was a fun game and a good one to kick off this homestand’. Dylan Samberg joins Sara Orlesky to discuss Winnipeg’s win over the Lightning, which moves the Jets to 11-1 on the season, and what’s been working well for him this season after his career-best third goal of the year stood as the winner.
