Note: The Jets hit the ice in Calgary on Friday where things looked the same as they’ve looked for awhile and when your team is 7-0-0 to start the season guess that makes a lot of sense. No morning skate for Winnipeg which means you should likely expect the same lineup although coach Scott Arniel wasn’t prepared to name his starter. Check back for the pre-game report for any updates. Puck drop is at 6 PM CDT.
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Calgary, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game starting around 8:40 PM CDT.
Note III: The Moose will finally play their first home game of the season as they spent the past two weekends on the road in Iowa and Michigan finishing with a 2-2-0 record. Today they welcome Rockford to town for the first of two games at Canada Life Centre. Puck drop is at 2 PM CDT.
Note IV: Join us for two hours of Jets talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show as we reflect on the week that was in Jetsland, preview the game between the Jets/Flames, discuss all the latest news about the NHL and AHL clubs of Manitoba. Guests include Kelly Moore of 680 CJOB and former QMJHL coach Jon Goyens of Daily Faceoff who did an excellent breakdown of the Winnipeg power play.
Note V: Checking out how Jets prospects fared last night starting in the OHL and it was a quiet night for the four prospects in action. There was a bit more doing in the WHL with two of three prospects finding themselves on the scoresheet. Over in Sweden it was a first goal for Jets 2024 2nd rounder Alfons Freij with Bjorkloven in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

Winnipeg Free Press: Vast majority of NHLers still choose to play without neck protection. (Paywall). Much like players adopting helmets for years it was not seen as a necessity and now you cannot imagine a guy playing without one. Seems it’s only a matter of time before the same happens with neck protection, especially since it’s being mandated in the AHL.
Sportsnet: Third line powers Jets to another win. Just goes to show you how effective the third line has been for the Jets this season.
Global News: Patience paying off for 7-0 Jets. John wrote about how this Jets club has won games this season in different ways.
