Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: While there is still no news about Cole Perfetti and a new contract (yet) he did provide some hope that things will be resolved soon at the NHL Media Tour. He was back on the ice in Winnipeg on Thursday in the afternoon working with skills coach Dave Cameron.

Winnipeg Sun: Foundation laid to build on this season, Jets’ Adam Lowry says. Given just how badly they, the team which had allowed the fewest goals in the NHL, got manhandled by the Avs in their first round series necessitated lots of self reflection. But it isn’t just on the players. The coaching staff (which is obviously different this year) didn’t adjust as needed last post-season.

Winnipeg Sun: Winnipeg Jets’ Kyle Connor has been in Cole Perfetti’s shoes: ‘Just be patient’. Fact is most of these guys have been in that spot before although unlike Perfetti most of them stayed home while the contract was being worked out.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets have unfinished business. (Paywall). They’ve definitely got some demons to exorcise after two straight first round defeats.
