Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note: For just the second time since returning to Winnipeg the Jets did not make a selection in the first round of the NHL Draft (the only other time was 2018). There had been talk that Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff, who spoke prior to the draft getting underway, would attempt to get back into the first round via trade. Note II: After not being active on day 1 the Jets will make five selections on day 2 in rounds 2 (37th), round 4 (123rd), round 5 (155th), round 6 (187th) and round 7 (219th). We will have full coverage on here for all things Winnipeg at the Draft in Vegas.

Winnipeg Free Press: Chevy in no rush to move McGroarty, eyes inking Ehlers. (Paywall).  He was certainly noncommittal when it came to discussing his 2022 first rounder but wasn’t that when he spoke about the importance of the Dynamic Dane to his hockey club.
