Medicine Hat News:  Imports in a crunch.  A little news on the Jets (when they were the Thrashers) 2010, 6th round pick’s status for this upcoming season with the Tigers.

Winnipeg Sun:  Provincial passion for Jets.  The ‘Go Jets Go’ chant never died when the team left, has been chanted at almost all sporting events around this province for the past 15+ years and will continue to be chanted for a long time to come.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Beyak, Munz Jets’ choice to provide play-by-play.  Remis will be covering the press conference and as soon as it finishes, he will get the audio up on IC.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets logo carved into Stonewall duo’s cornfield.  Based on the clicks the Cornfield got when we first brought it to our readers, I would think that many in Manitoba will be driving out to Stonewall to check out the maze.

Around the NHL:

Toronto Star:  Leafs’ Lombardi almost up to speed after concussion.  When healthy, this guy can fly and would give the Leafs a lot of speed up the middle.

Montreal Gazette:  Jean Béliveau turns 80, on the road to a full recovery.  We wish the Montreal legend a speedy recovery and a Happy Birthday.

National Post:  Kassian looking to find balance with the Sabres.  Sounds like he has enough self awareness not to go too far over the line, but to still allow himself to play with an edge.
