Note: The Jets season began with plenty of consternation with the uncertainty surrounding Mark Scheifele/Connor Hellebuyck/direction of the franchise and it ended with a similar level of frustration and pain. Which means, for now, that this will overshadow a really good 2023-24 campaign which saw this team match their highest win totals (52) in 13 seasons, win the William Jennings Trophy for least amount of goals against and presumably have the Vezina Award locked up. But they lost last night in game 5 by a final score of 6-3 which means the Avs took the best of seven series four games to one.

Note II: Winnipeg are scheduled to hold their end of season media availabilities on Thursday so be sure to keep it locked to our YouTube channel as we will have the entire day covered in full.

Note III: Today will be the third and final day of Moose end of season media availabilities which you can find on here and on our YouTube page. Today we will be speaking with another eight guys.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets put in historically bad defensive performance in five-game loss to Avalanche. When that stat came across my feed on twitter I thought ‘surely that is a modern day record’. There is no way in the entire history of the NHL that only Winnipeg had achieved this “milestone” but turns out they are the only ones.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets crash out of playoffs in five games. Scott gives you his assessment of the game.

Winnipeg Free Press: Dejected Morrissey’s words speak volumes after Game 5 defeat. (Paywall). The effort 44 brought to each and every single game was palpable as was the way he felt after the game clearly. We shall see if they can harness this disappointment for next season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets go down fighting. (Paywall). It was definitely their best effort of the five games but it just wasn’t good enough as they couldn’t overcome a very good Avs team that just continued to find that next level against Winnipeg.

The Athletic: How Avalanche ended series vs. Jets in 5 games: 5 takeaways. (Paywall). Sean and Murat team up to give you five takeaways from this series.

Sportsnet: Jets’ season ends in familiar fashion, with many questions lingering. I always do wonder if these questions are tempered by what the Avs do in the playoffs. If they go on to win the Stanley Cup does that mitigate the loss? It’s been odd because it seems like this series was framed as an 1 vs an 8 when the reality is these were two closely matched team and many pundits had the Avs as favourites.

Global News: Season ends for Winnipeg with 6-3 Game 5 loss to Colorado. Christian and Russ break down last night’s contest.

Jets video:

TSN: Jets ran into a buzz sawThe Jets dropped four straight games after winning Game 1 of the series and allowed five goals or more in every single one of them. John Lu joins SportsCentre to breakdown a tough series from Winnipeg and where they go from here.
