Note: The Jets had a practice on Friday as they prepared for today’s game against the Avalanche where we learned Nino Niederreiter won’t be ready to go this afternoon. No morning skate for the Jets. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 3 PM CDT.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Colorado, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III: The Moose look to get closer to clinching a playoff spot when they kick off their final home series of the regular season this afternoon in Winnipeg against the Wild. And the scoreboard watching was favourable to Manitoba on Friday night. While a win won’t clinch them a playoff spot they could do so this evening if they win and the Wolves lose in any fashion to the Griffins this evening. Puck drop is at 2 PM CDT.

Note IV: Be sure to join us this morning for the Illegal Curve Hockey Show for two hours of Jets talk starting at 9 AM. We will be joined by Sean Reynolds of Sportsnet and former NHLer Wendell Clark.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets looked like old, impenetrable selves in Dallas win. Picking up wins but being dominated isn’t a sure fire way to inspire confidence as we saw when they defeated the Predators but gave up 17 scoring chances. On Thursday against the top ranked Stars they looked like the Jets of earlier this season who were a solid 5 on 5 team.

Winnipeg Sun: With playoffs looming, it’s time to share your Winnipeg Jets thoughts in our survey. Ted and the crew at the Sun want you to share your thoughts on the Jets.

Winnipeg Free Press: Central Division deemed best. (Paywall). The top three in the Central are quite the powerhouse trio and the battle between second and third should be a doozy.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets victory over Stars signals return to top-flight form. (Paywall). Ken shares more thoughts on the win from Thursday.

Jets prospect news:

Winnipeg Free Press: The making of Rutger McGroarty: Jets’ top prospect, family give all to get forward NHL ready. (Paywall). A really good read from Mike on the Jets first rounder (the first one) from 2022.

Jets video:

Winnipeg Sun: Can the Winnipeg Jets keep rolling against Avs? On the latest episode of Jets Setting, Postmedia’s Rob Wong chats with Winnipeg Sun Jets writer Scott Billeck and Winnipeg Sun Sports Editor Ted Wyman about the Jets’ fifth consecutive win and whether or not they have found their game from earlier this season. They also discuss how the Jets match up against their likely first-round opponent in Colorado.
