Note: The Jets took Wednesday off instead of practicing as they try to maximize rest during this stretch of 16 games in March. Morning skate for the Jets gets underway at 10:30 AM CDT as they welcome the Golden Knights to town. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 7 PM CDT.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Vegas, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III:  The Moose faced off against the Marlies last night which saw them really control play for big stretches of the game but credit Toronto goalie Dennis Hildeby who kept his team in the game and gave them a chance to get to extra time despite being outshot 15-3 in the 3rd period. Tate Singleton, five games into his pro career, scored his first goal but was also obliterated in his first pro fight when he dropped the gloves with Tyrel Bauer. Ultimately former Moose forward Logan Shaw won it in OT for the visitors as the Marlies took it 2-1. They are scheduled to practice today at 11 AM CDT in preparation for the sixth and final game of this homestand which will be a re-match between these two teams Friday night.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Answering the bell, missing the buzzer: Jets remain a box of surprises. This team is leaving folks with plenty of questions or as Paul writes surprises left to be discovered which at this point of the season isn’t terribly inspiring.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets running out of time to find remedy for self-inflicted wounds. (Paywall). Is this team the one that was record setting earlier in the season or are they the inconsistent group that doesn’t seem like they will be setting many more records?

TSN: There’s plenty left to play for in the Western Conference. The race to the end of the season is certainly proving to be a lot more interesting with Nashville’s hard charge.

Daily Faceoff: Any reason for concern during the Winnipeg Jets’ recent slump? Former NHLer Luke Gazdic chimes in with his thoughts and expresses a lack of concern for the NHL club of Winnipeg.

Global News: Jets need to get swagger back after losing skid. Time to ask the Bombers if they can co-opt Swaggerville for their stretch run.

Winnipeg Sun: What has gone wrong for the Winnipeg Jets during their four-game losing streak. On the latest episode of Jets Setting, Postmedias Rob Wong chats with Winnipeg Sun Jets writer Scott Billeck and Winnipeg Sun Sports Editor Ted Wyman about what has gone wrong for the Jets during their four-game losing streak and if there are concerns with Connor Hellebuycks play in March.
