Note: The Jets went into Dallas last night in a supposed clash of titans battling for top spot in the Central but after 60 minutes it was clear that the Stars are the top dog in this match-up and that was without Tyler Seguin who is hurt and newly acquired Chris Tanev who, because of VISA issues, isn’t available to play after being acquired from the Flames on Wednesday. Winnipeg has lost all three times they’ve gone up against Dallas this season which is kinda nuts given they’ve only got four regulation losses to Central teams out of 21 games and as mentioned a trio came against the Stars. Worse news for the visitors was they lost Gabriel Vilardi who Rick Bowness, when asked if there was concern he might not be available on Saturday, said “Yeah I’d be concerned about that.”. Today the Jets are scheduled to practice in Texas as they get set to face the Hurricanes on Saturday. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose held another day of practice on Thursday although this time they were at Canada Life preparing to face the Stars of Texas (AHL version). Today is their final day of practice before the weekend set.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets fumble chance to take control of Central Division lead in loss to Stars. It was certainly a chance to make a statement and while one was made it wasn’t one that is likely to be appreciated by the Jets or their fans.
Winnipeg Sun: Mark Scheifele a shining example of why people shouldn’t give up on Cole Perfetti. He’s 22 and hit a cold spell. It happens. The idea that folks think he’s not worth sticking with is quite the take.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets, Stars and Avalanche in tight battle for first place. (Paywall). While some folks were demoralized after the loss it’s worth remembering that Winnipeg still has four games on hand on Dallas and three games on Colorado. But of course it’s important to win those extra games especially when the prize is 1st place and ensuring the other two teams have to beat each other up in the first round.
Global News: Jets fall behind early, can’t recover in 4-1 loss to the Stars in Dallas. Falling behind by a single goal is somewhat understandable. Maybe even two but once it hit three that game was over Rock.
