Note: The Jets took a risk on Sunday by placing Declan Chisholm on waivers and by Monday afternoon we had learned that he had been claimed by the Wild. Potentially adds some intrigue to the upcoming meeting on February 20th. The Jets remain off for their Player Break.

Note II: The Moose were off on Monday after winning both the games they played this weekend in Illinois. They are back in Rockford as they return to action against the IceHogs which is the team they defeated on Saturday night. If they want to be in the playoff race they will have to keep defeating divisional opponents (including tonight that is their next five games). They sit seven points back of the IceHogs who are in 4th and six points back of the Wolves who are in the 5th and final spot. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note III: Former Jets goalie prospect Mikhail Berdin using his blocker hand in a slightly different way than folks over here were used to seeing from him when he was between the pipes.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Wild delivers front-office face wash to Jets GM Cheveldayoff. Paul wrote about the Wild claiming Chisholm, the changes teammates are seeing in Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor abandoning sunshine for All-Star Weekend.

Winnipeg Free Press: Power play a source of concern for high-flying Jets. (Paywall).  There is no question that the special teams need to improve as they are costing the Jets points in their standings bank. As we’ve been saying for some time you don’t need a top 10 PP or PK to win a Stanley Cup but being league average would be a lot better than where Winnipeg currently find themselves.

Global News: Much-needed break for Jets before schedule gets heavy again. From getting Mark Scheifele back, to allowing guys that we know are dealing with issues and those that we don’t time to heal this break came at the perfect time for Winnipeg.

Jets prospect news:

Daily Faceoff: Rutger McGroarty is going to be a beast for the Winnipeg Jets. That is the type of headline every Jets fans wants to read.

Jets video:

WST: Jets Week in Review. Connor Hrabchak hosts Winnipeg Jets Weekly – a review of the past week in Winnipeg Jets news and a look ahead of what’s to come. Connor discusses the Winnipeg Jets losses to the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs (2x).
