Note: The Jets were in Toronto last night to conclude their three-game road trip against the Leafs. They were doing it without Mark Scheifele, without Gabriel Vilardi and after 7:17 of the 1st period without Josh Morrissey who blocked a shot and would not return to the game. Despite these limitations the visitors played a very good road game, got into some penalty trouble which killed their momentum and ultimately dropped the game late in OT. They are off today.

Note II: The Moose losing streak hit 11 games after they dropped the final game of this four-game homestand 2-1 to the Wolves. The game featured Thomas Milic getting the net for the Moose as the Jets goalie prospect was getting into his first AHL action since November. Fellow Winnipeg prospect Brad Lambert returned to the lineup after taking a big hit in Laval back on January 13th. The only goal of the game for the home team came off the stick of Kristian Reichel who got his sixth of the season to tie the game. They were originally scheduled to be off today but they will now have a practice before heading out on the road tomorrow.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Goalies share spotlight in Jets 1-0 loss to Leafs. (Paywall). Both played well last night as Wieber provides you with his insight into the game from his spot inside the arena.

Winnipeg Free Press: Scheifele, Vilardi continue to convalesce. (Paywall). Even if both are reasonably close to playing on Saturday you do wonder if the team weights the benefits of another ten days off to ensure both players are healthy.

Winnipeg Sun: Shorthanded Jets do everything but score in OT loss to Leafs. Scott’s recap of last night’s tilt.

Winnipeg Sun: 10 targets as Jets look to put team over the top. Even though the trade deadline is a ways away that doesn’t stop the speculation as to who might be a good fit in the ‘Peg.

Toronto Sun: Samsonov slams door, Maple Leafs outlast Jets to win in overtime. Scott’s Sun counterpart in Toronto gives you his insight into the game.

Sportsnet: Jets author another masterful defensive effort, but fall just short as injuries mount. While they would have liked to score in the game last night I was impressed by the team’s commitment to structure in the game and their determination to get back pucks that had been lost.
