Note: The Jets did battle with the Predators last night and they continued with their winning ways as they picked up a 6-3 win over the Predators which kicked off the first of five straight at home. Today they are scheduled to practice at 12 noon as they prepare for tomorrow’s matinee against the Stars. Check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose have another day of practice today out at hockey for all centre this morning at 10:30 AM CST as they continue to prepare themselves for their upcoming series with the Laval Rocket which gets underway on Sunday at 2 PM CST.

Note III: Perhaps the most noteworthy occurrence yesterday was the fact that Gabe Vilardi resumed skating in the morning.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Kyle Connor scores hat trick, joins league goal leaders, as Jets win third straight. Remarkable season for the Michigan Man who had 31 last season (has two goals in his first 13 games) and this season is now on pace for close to 70 (11 goals in his first 13 games).

Winnipeg Sun: Individual feats sit second to Jets team play. With hockey being “the ultimate team game” the suspension of individual accomplishments for the greater good is pretty much the mantra for most clubs.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ Rasmus Kupari hopes goals are like snow and cold in Winnipeg: Inevitable. He is doing a lot of things right but he will have to start converting on some of his chances. Just like last night we saw him put himself in the right place at the right time but he just couldn’t get it to go.

Winnipeg Free Press: Kyle Connor hat trick powers Jets past Predators 6-3. (Paywall). On a night dedicated to their AHL club the alumni of the Manitoba Moose lead Winnipeg to a victory over the Predators as the Jets picked up their third straight win.

Winnipeg Free Press: Timing everything for Trotz. (Paywall). Ken had a chance to catch up with the Dauphin, Manitoba product which included his thoughts on not taking the job in Winnipeg.

Global News: Connor’s hat trick lifts Jets to 6-3 win over Predators. Another recap of last night’s game.

The Tennessean: Forsberg scores two goals but Connor’s hat trick too much for Predators. Always good to gain some insight into the game from a writer who covers the Jets opponent.

TSN: Biron sees much more speed and explosiveness from Connor amid his hot startWith 11 goals in 13 games to start the season, TSN Hockey analyst Marin Biron joins SportsCentre to explain what he’s seeing from Kyle Connor so far, and how important the Jets’ third line is to their success.

TSN: Is Connor the quietest superstar in the NHL? Winnipeg’s Kyle Connor has eight goals and 12 points in 12 games this season (Note: this was recorded before the game). Is he the quietest superstar in the NHL right now? Can the Jets continue to produce high-powered offence tonight against Nashville? TSN Hockey’s Frankie Corrado discusses this and more.
