Note: The Jets went into Montreal last night to conclude their two-game road trip and it looked like they’d be picked up their fourth straight win after they built themselves a 3-1 lead. However the Canadiens fought back to force extra time and ultimately won in a shootout. Winnipeg’s win streak converts to a points streak. They are off today and will be back on the ice on Monday as they prepare to face Blake Wheeler and the Rangers.
Note II: The Moose had themselves a night in Cedar Park, Texas last night. They had already won on Friday and the Stars took it to Manitoba throughout the contest. Danny Zhilkin got his first as a pro, then he set up Axel Jonsson-Fjallby for a beauty shorthanded goal, Jeff Malott made a nice ping sound, Ashton Sautner got his first of the season/game and ultimately Brad Lambert found soft ice to tie it midway through the 3rd. Then in OT DMan Ashton Sautner gave his club the victory and a sweep of the Stars. Also the kids showed they’re doing alright.
Note III: It was a pretty, pretty, pretty decent weekend for Jets 2022 1st rounder Rutger McGroarty. He had two assists on Friday and two goals on Saturday for a four point weekend for Michigan. He’s up to 15 points (5G 10A) in 8 games which ties him for top spot in NCAA scoring.
