Note: The Jets suffered one of their worst defeats of the year, not only because it was against a Sharks team that had only one win in the month of March (coincidentally vs Winnipeg) but also because San Jose couldn’t stop a beachball all month long. However that task proved too overwhelming for the Jets last night which saw them conclude their three-game set in California with one win and two losses. Also doesn’t help that the teams chasing them in the standings also both won. They are off today as they travel back to Winnipeg.

Note II: The Moose suffered a tough defeat on Tuesday as they got swept by the Rocket in their two-game series. One bright spot was that newly signed by the Jets (to an ELC) and by the Moose (to an ATO) was Parker Ford making his pro debut with Manitoba and also scoring his first career goal in the pros. Moose have a practice scheduled for today.

Note III: The Ice have another day of practice as they prepare for their first game of the first round when they welcome the Tigers to town on Friday.

Jets news:

Daily Faceoff: What will the Winnipeg Jets’ offseason look like? Regardless of whether or not this team makes the playoffs it is going to be a fascinating summer in the ‘Peg. Frank and Mike discussed today.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets, Rick Bowness need to get on the same page with season on the line. (Paywall). Last night was game 75. Game 75. If they aren’t on the same page in what world can they suddenly “get it together” and do that?

TSN: Bowness calls out Jets players for ‘inconsistencies’. The only thing consistent about this club lately is just how inconsistent they are.

Sportsnet: After loss to Sharks, Bowness says some Jets ‘dreaming’ to think their efforts are enough. How many times have we heard this is a results based business? It is also a “what have you done for me lately” type as well. The top dogs on this club need to produce. Period.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets hit rock bottom after being shut out by Reimer, Sharks. As illustrated in the notes this is a Sharks team that has just two wins all month (both against Winnipeg if you skipped the notes).

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ tailspin continues with 3-0 loss to lowly Sharks. (Paywall). With Calgary and Nashville both winning last night it was an especially costly defeat.

Global News: Jets can’t score against bottom-feeding Sharks in 3-0 loss. Another recap of the contest.

San Jose Mercury News: Sharks’ Reimer makes incredible save, hears cheers in San Jose, but faces uncertain future. The Morweena, Manitoba product was very good last night. Read about the game from the perspective of a writer that covers the Jets opponent.

TSN: Jets’ downward spiral continues; now just two points up on Flames for last wild card spotThe Jets’ downward spiral continues and their lead in the wild card race is down to just two points over the Flames. TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado joins SportsCentre to dissect what’s happened to Winnipeg down the stretch, and share who he thinks has the edge between Winnipeg and Calgary for the final wild card spot in the West.

Sportsnet: Bowness: Some Jets ‘dreaming’ if they think they’re giving 100% in playoff chase. Watch as Jets coach Rick Bowness has harsh words for his locker room after a loss to the San Jose Sharks, saying some players are on board with the team’s playoff fight, while others are failing to give their full effort.
