Note: The Jets were off on Sunday although there was some news as NHL Player Safety ruled that the Kings Blake Lizotte only merited a one-game suspension for his cross-check to the face of Josh Morrissey. Today they are scheduled to practice in San Jose as they get set to face the Sharks tomorrow night to conclude their California road trip. Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose tank was just empty on Sunday afternoon as they had some early life but eventually the Rocket took advantage of some miscues to take it 4-1 and end the Manitoba points streak at five games. They are off today.
Note III: The Ice finished their regular season on Saturday night and found out that they will face the Tigers from Medicine Hat. Game 1 of the playoffs gets underway on Friday, March 31st here in Winnipeg.
Jets news:
Global News: Jets in need of leaders. Note the plural on the word leaders. While Mark Scheifele is gonna have to be the primary driver if Blake Wheeler is gonna log big minute then he has to produce. Same goes for Kyle Connor and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets’ Brenden Dillon Q&A: ‘There’s just no time to feel sorry for yourself’. (Paywall). An excellent chat between Murat and the well-spoken dman from BC.
Winnipeg Free Press: Scheifele vanishes: no effort spared in search. (Paywall). This team will always need 37 to be the best player on the ice but 55 is a strong number two as they need his production.
The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets loss to the L.A. Kings puts their ability to face them in the playoffs in question. (Paywall). Missed this from Murat on what the loss means for the Jets.
