Note: The Jets were in action last night against the Coyotes which saw them take it 2-1 over the Jets 1.0 in a game that had organizational significance which also allowed them to maintain their points buffer over the Flames and Predators who both won last night. Today they are scheduled to practice at 11 AM CDT before they take off on their California road trip. Check back for the Practice Report.
Note II: The Moose were off on Tuesday but they hit the ice today for morning skate as they get set to kick off eight games at home starting tonight with the Icehogs. Big question mark surrounding the status of Declan Chisholm who was injured in their final game of the road trip this past weekend in Chicago. (Update: He suffered a high-ankle sprain and is out indefinitely). Puck drop tonight is at 7 PM CDT.
Note III: The Ice continue to look to set both team and WHL records as their regular season winds down and they start to prepare for the playoffs. Tonight they take on the Warriors in Winnipeg. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM CDT.
Jets news:
Global News: It’s wild card or bust for the Jets. As I said on last night’s IC Post-Game Show it is wild to think that we were talking 1st or 2nd place in the Central with 3rd seemingly less likely and now the discussion had turned to wild card or no playoffs. Quite the slide for the NHL club of Winnipeg. Paul shares his thoughts.
Sportsnet: Vintage Hellebuyck performance carries Jets to ‘crucial’ win over Coyotes. He faced 18 shots in the middle frame of last night’s game and stopped all but one of them and also stopped all shots he faced in the 1st and 3rd periods. Once again he shows off why he is the most valuable member of the team.
Winnipeg Sun: Uninspired Jets scrape out two points against lowly Coyotes. Given how important the game was the lackluster effort in the 2nd period is hard to explain.
Winnipeg Free Press: Desperate Jets hang on to beat Coyotes. (Paywall). Those were two points the Jets could not afford to lose.
Global News: Jets pick up crucial two points in 2-1 win over Arizona. Might be time to put the “objects in (the) mirror are closer than they appear” cause both the Flames and Preds are pushing.

TSN: Jets or Flames – Which team has the edge in the race for the final wild card spot? Craig Button joins SportsCentre to share which team he gives the edge to between the Jets and Flames for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and which team has the potential to create some havoc should it make it to the postseason.
TSN: Button praises Hellebuyck: ‘He cleans up mess after mess after mess after mess’. The Jets picked up a much-needed win Tuesday following a 17-game stretch in which they won just five games. Rick Bowness was emphatic that his team needs to manage the puck better to get out of this funk. Craig Button joins SportsCentre to assess how they did in that aspect vs. the Coyotes, and discuss whether this is a performance Connor Hellebuyck can build off of for the rest of the season.
