Note: The Jets did everything but outscore the Wild last night in Winnipeg as they controlled the majority of play but with Connor Hellebuyck at mere mortal status, with a completely powerless power play the home team fell 3-2 to the visitors. That’s already the third time (of three meetings so far) that they’ve lost to their division rival. Today the Jets were scheduled to practice before they left for Florida but they have cancelled. One player that isn’t leaving with the team is Pierre-Luc Dubois. He suffered an injury in the game against the Sharks and the team is hopeful he can join them on the road.
Note II: The Moose and Canucks had a re-match last night which saw Manitoba score early in the 3rd period to tie the game but a costly penalty in OT left them with a single point. They earned three of four points in their two games in Abbotsford to kick off their seven-game road trip. That single point was also enough to tie them with the Admirals for 2nd in the Central and they trail top spot held by the Stars by a single point. Today they travel to Iowa where they will take on the Wild in a pair of games starting on Saturday night in Des Moines.
Note III: The Ice are currently enjoying their status as the lone 50-win team in the entire CHL. Yup not just the WHL (although the Thunderbirds with Jets 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert are close with 48) but the OHL (44 wins) and QMJHL (46 wins). They will look to add to that total tomorrow night when they welcome the Oil Kings to Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Free Press: Capobianco ‘a true pro’. Cannot be easy to sit around waiting to play.
Star Tribune: Kirill Kaprizov leaves injured in Minnesota Wild’s 4-2 victory at Winnipeg. While the two points are important me thinks a substantial injury to their star forward may overshadow this by quite a bit.
