Note: The Jets were off on Sunday after they finally got a win under their belt on Saturday night in their home and home set against the Oilers. Today they continue their homestand against the Sharks who they will face for the first time this season. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 9:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6:30 PM CST (Reminder puck drop is 30 minutes earlier than normal).
Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and San Jose, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).
Note III: The Moose concluded eight games at home with a big 5-3 win over the Wolves which earned them a split in their two-game set and overall allowed them to finish with a 6-1-1-0 record. Overall it was the 30th win of the season for Manitoba as they sit 3rd in the Central within striking distance of first place Texas (four points ahead) and second place Milwaukee (three points up) holding a game in hand on both of those squads. They will travel today to Abbotsford where they will kick off their first of seven on the road against the Canucks on Tuesday.
Note IV: The first place Ice have just nine regular season games remaining with seven of those to be played in Winnipeg. They start on Tuesday night when they welcome Medicine Hat to town.
Jets news:
Global News: Jets need to ensure Saturday’s win is first step of bounce-back. Especially with the Predators creeping themselves back into the discussion.
CTV News: Indigenous youth celebrate culture and sport in hockey-filled weekend. It was a fantastic display and there was a lot of celebration throughout the games on Saturday and Sunday. Funds raised will go to support the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre.
The Athletic: Which NHL teams had the best and worst trade deadlines? (Paywall). These are my favourite types of articles because the true answer will not be known until a Stanley Cup champion is crowned and those teams which made bold moves but fell short get pilloried. When it comes to the Jets Murat scored them a six out of ten.
