Jets news:
Sportsnet: With eyes on a division title, Jets must re-establish defensive prowess. Whatever that was last night it wasn’t “it”. While 37 had an off night so did the team around him.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets winning streak snapped as they fall to Red Wings in wild goal-fest. When they found themselves down 3-0 and 4-1 they just never seemed like they were out of the game and even early in the 3rd down 5-4 it seemed like this team could come back but they weren’t rewarded for a poor effort with any points and that’s probably a good thing. Plenty to teach from that loss.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets skid out in Motor City. As good as Connor Hellebuyck has been this season he sometimes shows he is human and in those situations (four goals on nine shots) it would help if his team was there to bail him out. But the team, like their netminder, just didn’t have it last night in Detroit and it showed.
Detroit Free Press: Red Wings wobbly on defense, but score plenty in 7-5 win over Jets to end skid. Be sure to check out the game recap from the perspective of a beat writer who covers the Jets opponent.
MLive: Red Wings start strong, stave off Jets to end three-game skid. Another game recap from a Wings beat writer.

TSN: Corrado pins Jets’ loss on ‘uncharacteristic defensive breakdowns’. After giving up five-plus goals in a game for just the fifth time this season, TSN Hockey analyst Frankie Corrado pins the Jets’ loss on “uncharacteristic defensive breakdowns”, which resulted in the team being dealt some humble pie, and explains what Winnipeg should look for ahead of the trade deadline.
TSN: Is Kyle Connor the most underrated player in the NHL? Jets forward Kyle Connor is coming off a hat-trick, and the game before that he set the franchise record with his 41st game-winning goal. Ice news:
Winnipeg Sun: ‘Built for right now’: Ice add horsepower for one more shot. If you haven’t been paying attention to the junior hockey club of ‘Peg city then you may want to start as they are one of the best in the country and they added a big piece as they try to make a run at a Memorial Cup.
Winnipeg Free Press: Ice all-in on Ostapchuk. (Paywall). Given the team they already had this is another quality weapon in head coach James Patrick’s arsenal.
