Note: The Jets handed it to the Hawks last night in Chicago as they concluded their three-game road trip with a 7-2 beat down. It means they went 2-1-0 during the trip and currently sit 13-6-1 on the season which is good enough for 2nd in the Central.

Note II: The Moose returned home from their five-game road trip which ended on Saturday in Grand Rapids with a 4-1 win over the Griffins. They are back in Winnipeg for a pair of games including a first ever school day game on Thursday at 11 AM. The team also got Ville Heinola reassigned to them on Sunday so that should provide a boost. They are scheduled to practice today.

Note III: The Ice were also on the road this weekend as they went to Saskatoon which saw them split their two-game series with the Blades. They are currently 1st in the Eastern Conference at 22-3-0-0 and remain the only WHL team with a minimum of 20 wins.

Jets news:

Global News: Do we know what Jets are fully capable ofIt is a fair question but the reality of the NHL season is you are never “fully healthy” so your optimal lineup is generally always going to be in flux. And the true test of a roster is how you can handle the loss of key pieces of the puzzle.

Sportsnet: Despite early injury woes, Jets maintaining strong play: ‘Our depth is really key’. When you are getting goals in consecutive games from Jansen Harkins, Saku Maenalanen is potting a pair, assists in consecutive games from Mikey Eyssimont and haven’t hit a major slide without key pieces like Nikolaj Ehlers, Morgan Barron (now back) and Mason Appleton it does show that the organization has more depth than many thought previously.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets crush lacklustre Blackhawks in convincing win. As I wrote about in the pre-game report yesterday it is a tale of two cities in how things have gone for Winnipeg and Chicago since their first meeting of the season at the start of November as the Jets have risen high and the Hawks have fallen low.

Winnipeg Sun: Fixing Jets’ 6-on-5 woes as simple as getting a body in the wayPlayers just need to think it is the opposite of the Ludacris song ‘Get Out Da Way’.

Winnipeg Free Press: Dubois, Maenalanen each score twice in Jets dominant 7-2 win over Blackhawks. (Paywall). It was a dominant performance that saw almost every single player get a piece of in the win.

Winnipeg Free Press: Healthy Barron a bonus for Jets. (Paywall). His return is huge as he fills an important role for this club which could use some healthy bodies.

NBC Chicago: Hawks appear to hold players-only meeting after 7th straight loss. Important to remember that the Jets opponent is not a very good hockey team.

TSN: Are the Jets for real this seasonTSN’s Director of Scouting Craig Button weighed in on what went right for Winnipeg in a blowout win over the Blackhawks, and whether or not the Jets could be a real playoff threat this season as they close in on the top spot in the Central Division.
