Winnipeg Free Press:  Kane ponders six-year, $29-M deal from Jets.  Fans are possibly going to have an opportunity to see Kane as he enters his prime stretch as a member of this organization if he is prepared to commit to Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Flood says he wanted to stay, but jump to KHL now official.  The kind of person off the ice you want around your hockey team.  Always said great things about the city.

Winnipeg Sun:  Time for Byfuglien to turn page.  This Jets team is going to need an unburdened Big Buff next season if they want to compete and now that this event has been resolved, hopefully the focus moving forward will be his play on the ice.

Globe and Mail:  NHL executives, players set to resume labour talks.  Expect that this will be the news for the next month or two.

NHL news:

Edmonton Journal:  Yakupov signed, sealed. The Oilers youth movement continues to gain momentum.

New York Times: Rangers finally acquire Nash, without giving up any key players.  Jackets GM Howson is getting roasted for his move of their franchise player.  Only time will tell how significant this move really was.

ESPN:  Claude Julien gets extension.  Cannot believe he was already in the last year of his contract.  Seems like just yesterday he took over as bench boss.
