Note: The Jets concluded their final bit of RFA business on Wednesday when they agreed to a two-year deal with David Gustafsson.
Note II: The re-booted World Junior tournament continued yesterday and it was Jets 2020 2nd rounder Daniel Torgersson‘s turn to put on a show scoring not once but twice in the Sweden 3-2 win over Switzerland. And it gives Jets fans a couple more chances to hear Dennis Beyak’s goal call.
Note III: While the Illegal Curve Hockey Show is on hiatus we will still have some features for you on our YouTube channel throughout August. This afternoon I’ll be chatting with defenceman Johnny Kovacevic, who signed a three-year deal with the Jets a few weeks back. That interview will be posted on our YouTube channel tomorrow so be sure you’re subscribing to catch that conversation.
Note IV: A couple of Moose departures came out on Wednesday as Grand Forks product Luke Johnson heads to San Jose (signed by AHL Barracuda). Had a really tough year in Manitoba only playing 23 games (3G 7A) after suffering TWO broken legs last season. As well defenceman Markus Phillips is heading overseas to join Porin Ässät of Liiga. He only played seven games with the Moose after he was acquired as part of the Nelson Nogier trade.
